We are a community of professionals involved in the study of law and social sciences, dedicated to the research and dissemination of space law and policy, from a Latin American perspective.

We are committed to the promotion of ideas and actions that contribute to a peaceful, sustainable and democratic use of outer space for all people.

At the same time, in DerechoEspacial.Org we recognize the complexity of activities in Space, understanding  that it is necessary to approach the subject from different perspectives with several methods.

Why are we here?

We promote the discussion and reflection about space law, from a Latin American perspective, in the academic field  as well as in in the public and private sectors.

Derechoespacial.Org has the mission to develop and promote the understanding of the legal framework applicable to space activities.

We are willing to transform, to spread space law knowledge, to reappropriate it and to maximize the positive impact that it may have on lawyers and future professionals who dedicate themselves to this branch of the law.

We want:

• To explore and understand the legal implications of outer space usage, to study its development, dynamics, norms and standards; and to assess the need for specific laws and policies, both regionally and globally.
• To disseminate an understanding of the legal framework that applies to space activities.
• To promote linkages/bonds within the academic community and interdisciplinary research that contribute to the development of knowledge in the respective areas of study.
• To generate a space for deliberation and plurality.
• To promote the research and development of regulatory space law.
• To collaborate, both on a local level and internationally, with other organizations and public and private establishments, in order to promote and disseminate the study of law and space policy.
